SVG Internet Governance Forum – 2021
SVG IGF 2021 will be the 3rd IGF Forum convened by SVG IGF. Internet Society St. Vincent and the Grenadines (ISOC SVG) is entrusted with the operational secretariat role for SVG IGF. The IGF is being executed by the Secretariat (ISOC SVG) on the 14th and 15th of July 2021, under the theme, the use of emerging technologies for disaster resilience.
The empowerment of stakeholders from various disciplines gender and age groups is vital. Stakeholders were consulted for input on the the selected theme. The theme will be focussing on the importance of ICT in SVG and leveraging it in time of disaster. Special attention will be paid to digital transactions and payments.
SVG IGF 2021 meeting will be hosted onsite at the National Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (NTRC). There will also be the possibility for meaningful online participation via Zoom as well as live streaming on ISOC SVG Youtube and Facebook pages. The thematic approach and full agenda is under planning by the multi-stakeholder organizing committee.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines national IGF is recognised by the United Nations Secretariat for the Internet Governance Forum as a national IGF that adheres to the core IGF principles and procedures, as outlined in the NRIs Toolkit. It regularly participates in the monthly meetings of all 137 NRIs, coordinated by the IGF Secretariat, contributes to the NRIs network development and integration of NRIs in the IGF’s global processes
